What is Root Chakra Healing?
I honestly didn’t think it ever affected it bothered me, but while talking about it today I had a perspective and thought about it I never had before. I pictured my adult self standing looking out a window watching 10 year old me run to the mailbox every day looking for that letter and my heart broke for that little boy. The sadness and emotion it brought up made me lose it and I rarely if ever cry.
Lie on the back, relax the body, release the mind and meditate. Hold this pose for several breaths, stretching the hamstrings and lower back and focusing on the breath and soles of the feet connecting to the Earth. Even just a few minutes of walking meditation in nature calms the nervous system and connects you with Mother Earth.
You can practice catharsis to let go of strong emotions such as fear and self-pity. Exercising the perineum muscle (the area between the anus and groin) is also an effective way of stimulating the root chakra. Simply contract the muscle as you inhale, and relax the muscle as you exhale for 3-5 minutes.
